The Event Highlights

  • Located just east of Birmingham, Al., at a million dollar plus home!

  • Event is on Sunday March 11th, 2007 (8:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

  • Low cost of $245** per student plus model fees. Model fees are $25 per model photographed (w/photo release signed on payment) **Early Birds Save $20!

  • 4 to 6 gorgeous models are scheduled to participate! (*models subject to change)

  • Expert makeup services for the models provided

  • Experience a full day of shooting and instruction

  • Students must have a digital SLR camera with hot shoe support capable of shooting in manual and be completely comfortable and familiar with their equipment. (this is not an equipment instruction class)

  • Theme is Maxim style glamour & lingerie up to Playboy style nudes

  • Learn from multiple photography Mentor/instructors assisting you all day

  • Portfolio review by our mentors (everyone should bring a printed portfolio)

  • Photoshop editing instruction to be given by several mentors with the theme being "Taking your images to the next level as a finished product"

  • Lighting equipment will be provided (your camera must have a hot shoe but feel free to bring additional radio slave units and trip cords if you have them)

  • Multiple sets to shoot throughout the location with a shooting rotation for students

  • Food and drinks included throughout the day

*Models scheduled to appear are subject to change. We make every effort not do so, but are not responsible for no shows the day of the event. All our models are briefed on what is expected of them including being there on time for our events. However, at times circumstances change or things occur beyond our or their control. When this happens we try to replace them time permitting. If not, we continue with the workshop regardless. This also applies to mentors who can not make it as originally planned. Every effort will be made to assure the workshop is successful. No refunds are given to registered students if for some reason a certain model or mentor does not make it to the event.

When you sign up you will be sent to a registration success page then redirected to our Payment page to complete registration payment requirements for the event. Links to Event Directions will be emailed to you prior to our event. You should print out the information on those pages and save it. No direct, public links will be up to these pages. You will be contacted by email or phone to verify your registration and that you have all the directions. You also will be given Paul's direct business cell phone number incase you have questions or need additional help making it to the event.

NOTE: All registrants are subject to review and acceptance. We reserve the right to limit attendance, cut off registration or reject registration for any reason. If we do not accept your registration for what ever reason we will not bill you. No refunds are given for registrants canceling or not being able to attend.

A Word About Costs To Attend

You get all this and more for only $245 plus model fees! What are the additional modeling fees?  Each model you photograph will sign her release for a mere $25. So to do the math for you if you shoot 4 models your model fees will be $100, if you shoot additional models then the cost will be $25 per additional model. This is a small price to pay for a full release**. We will furnish the releases. The only stipulation is the images may not be sold to or used on an ADULT or PAY website. Please bring CASH or CHECK to take care of the models before you leave.

"The Art of Glamour" will be at a upscale private home in Birmingham, Al.  It will present itself with many shooting areas for glamour photography. This will be a good opportunity to work on getting some great Glamour shots for your book and learn something in the process. Many photographers of all skill levels will be in attendance along with my special guest mentor photographers who will be instructing and helping for the event. Each of us will personally offer tips and suggestions on shooting Glamour on location and be available to answer your questions. We will have several lighting setups for you to shoot with and make changes throughout the day for different looks in your images. You will be shooting from Glamour to Nude, so plan on being there for this unique event in a new format! Photographers will be assigned models and sets and will rotate throughout the day to gain as much experience and variety as possible. We have kept the model to photographer ratio low so you may get more shooting time and not have a long line behind you wanting to shoot. I  and our Mentor Photographers will offer personal assistance for the event will be on hand to help with all your needs during the day. We want to inspire you, teach you new things and help you learn to shoot and create better images. I want this to be one of the best workshops you have ever attended period! We will have presentations on everything from selecting your best images, to editing and creating a finished product. It is sure to inspire you to be a better photographer.
 

A Message About Your Event Host

Paul Hamer, your event host and mentor photographer is an accomplished calendar, swimwear, model and glamour photographer based in Birmingham, Alabama. Paul's work has been published numerous times for clients ranging from corporate businesses, nightclubs, magazines and even motorcycle rally's! A firm believer in networking, his contributions toward the bringing together of photographers and models for networking meetings and events has been many. Much of that has been accomplished through his own very popular web site www.southernmodelshoots.com with it's  busy message forum. Through SMS he has hosted many local and regional photo events as well. He also has hosted networking meetings for the fine folks at www.onemodelplace.com, from time to time sharing his knowledge and building valuable contacts.

Paul has had the chance to meet many wonderful photographers over the years and in planning this particular workshop ,he sought out several of those photographers whom he thought had both the vision and skills to offer as mentors for this glamour event. Each mentor has his or her own area of expertise and it is our hope that you will gain valuable knowledge from their sharing of those skills with you at what will be a very special glamour workshop. So make plans to join us all to learn new skills, work with some interesting new people and to build a better glamour portfolio to impress your clients.

Guest Mentor Photographers

Rick Hughes, has become one of the most talented photographers in the country. Currently based in Atlanta, he has gained much praise for his own Focus Workshop series at www.focusworkshops.com.  His eye for detail and knowledge of model photography will amaze you. I am sure you will gain valuable information and many helpful tips from Rick to make your time spent with him at our event very special. He will be on hand to share his knowledge and skills with you as you shoot thought the day! At one of our recent workshops he attended, our photographers were singing his praises for opening their eyes to new ideas in shooting. Mike Caldwell, is  based just south of Nashville in Murphysboro and is a creative person indeed. Just look at his portfolios and the attention to detail he places on not only shooting but editing and creating a finished product. Mike will be sharing his editing skills in a Photoshop presentation for all of you as well as working with you during your shooting time helping to improve your work. Misty Riddle, is  based in Guntersville and has come a long way as a photographer in a very short time. Her finished work is amazing and she clearly has an incredible talent for bringing out the best in an image. We feel this skill is very important to you. Misty is giving a presentation, sharing her vision on taking an image to a finished product, that is sure to inspire you as well as make you a better photographer. Directions
 This special Glamour event will be at a private location on the east side of Birmingham. Directions will be provided by email for everyone who registers. My cell number will be furnished to you on request by email after your registration. If you get lost, please call my cell phone for assistance with the directions.

Hotel and Restaurant Info
There are many motels and hotels in the area but I scouted and recommend the ones off I-20 at the Kilgore Road/Grants Mill Road Exit. There is a Holiday Inn Express at that exit on the hill behind McDonalds which is also to the left beside the Sam's Club. Also, there are many restaurants located nearby. It is just a few miles to the Glamour event location from there.
